My six year old came up with the concept for this cartoon to enter in a school contest with the theme “Diversity is…”. She wanted to show that making judgments about people based on assumptions was wrong. She did the dialog for the ladybug and butterfly (told me what to say for my part (the cockroach), set design and chose the images and chose the kind of ball they were playing with. I handled the technical end of actually creating her vision as an animated cartoon with lip sync and sound editing. My 1st cartoon creation–simple but has a story. Enjoy.
This project won 1st place in the Hawaii state PTSA for the primary level film production division and went on to win an Award of Merit at the at the national PTA awards in Washington D.C.– out of 500,000 contest entries.
